Meetings
All parents/carers of QHS students are automatically members of the Parent Forum and therefore eligible to join the Parent Council (PC). Each August we hold an Information Evening / AGM where the members of the PC for the following academic year are selected. We want the PC to be as representative as possible and have appointed Year Representatives, these are parents who typically have students in the year group they represent.
In additon to the AGM, the PC meets six times in the academic year. We are involved in a wide variety of parent activities such as being part of school working groups, liaising with our cluster schools, representing the Parent Forum to the City of Edinburgh Council (CEC) and supporting faculty recuitment. We also work closely with our local councillors as well representatives from Queensferry and District Community Council and have a strong working relationship with key CEC officials such as representatives from the Children and Families Group and Facilities Management.
Note that the PC is not directly involved in fundraising activities, that is the remit of our very successful PSA who are a separate group.
The PC's constitution and minutes from the previous three academic years are below.
