The Parent Council
QHS Parent Council members work towards the following goals for the good of the pupils in the school:
• To work in partnership with the school making it inclusive for all parents.
• To identify and represent the views of parents, in school and externally.
• To support the education and welfare of the students.
We are involved in a wide variety of parent activities such as being part of school working groups, liaising with our cluster schools and representing the parent forum to the local authority (City of Edinburgh Council).

All parents/carers of QCHS pupils are members of the parent forum and therefore very welcome to attend these meetings. If you are interested in joining the Parent Council then please come along to the Information Evening / AGM in August. We try to ensure we have representation for all school years so we welcome new members from any year group.
In additon to the AGM, the Parent Council meets 6 times in a school year and it’s remit is to work towards the following goals for the good of the pupils in the school:
• To work in partnership with the school making it inclusive for all parents.
• To identify and represent the views of parents, in school and externally.
• To support the education and welfare of the students.
We are involved in a wide variety of parent activities such as being part of school working groups, liaising with our cluster schools and representing the parent forum to the local authority (City of Edinburgh Council). We also work closely with our local councillors as well representatives from Queensferry and district Community Council; and have a strong working relationship with key CEC officials such as representatives from the Children and Families group and Facilities Management.
Note that the PC is not directly involved in fundraising activities, that is the remit of our very successful PSA who are a separate group (notification of the PSA AGM will be made separately).
The Parent Council’s constitution and copies of previous minutes can be found on this page.
