Mr Caldicott reports on the inter-house debate which took place on the evening of Tuesday 27 March in the Library:
"…and the winners were… Katherine Shaw and Lizzy Whike (both S1) of Hopetoun! They defeated Duncan Readle and Daniel Young (both S6) in the final, proposing the motion ‘This House would discontinue examinations in schools’. Congratulations to the girls – youngest winners of this annual competition now in its 10th year.
Katherine also won the Individual Speaker award. Quite a week for this young lady, as she was also in the ESU Public Speaking Final on Saturday in Edinburgh, where she delivered another performance beyond her years. One to watch!"
